Hello everyone!  Things are going wonderfully here in Bolivia, we have been very busy with the congregation and service, getting to know still the culture, people, food, and how to get around.  Keeping an open mind and trying to “do as the Bolivians do.”  They have a wonderful, loving, open minded culture that would make anyone feel loved and wanting to return the amazing treatment they give.  The couple we are renting from is always looking out for us telling us prices, how to get around, what to look out for.  There is the wonderful feeling we have known the congregation and friends for many years, them sharing everything they have with us and always including us…it’s odd to think we have only been here for a month and a half, and five months is beginning to feel TOO SHORT!!!  Not to mention the wonderful service experiences we are having, really feels as though Jehovah is guiding our every move!  Just to give you all a small idea the other day we were preaching door to door, and since we can speak so much at the door and on a WIDE variety of topics because of the peoples strong religious beliefs we have been trying to widen our topics of conversation and use more bible texts we haven’t used in door to door.  So I ring the bell and out comes a lady mid 30’s, I begin by talking to her about the conditions of the world and how many feel that God is far from us, or hard to get to know because of everything that is happening on the world scene and I ask for her opinion on the matter.  She responds that she believes it is god’s will and that we just need to have faith in him.  So I say let’s see what the bible says on the matter according to how Job felt about his own great suffering in Job 34:10…”far be it from the true God to act unjustly or in a wicked matter.”  (excuse my English translation I am thinking in spanish.)  Then I continue to explain to her that according to Job God is not involved in all the problems and wickedness we see now a days and that something that helps us get to know him better or want to draw close, is getting to know what he is going to do in a near future to rectify the situation we are in although he did not cause it and I go on to read her from Psalms.  After which I pull out the brochure “The Devine Name that endures forever.”  She takes the brochure gives me a donation and then says, “one thing that keeps me thinking is what you read from Job I have always thought that it was God’s will, and my daughter is very sick and is going to be operated soon and I just thought it was in God’s hands but according to what you read me it is not that way.”  So I pull out “Bible Teach” and take her to chapter 11 “Why does God permit suffering?”  and I show her that there are 3 basic reasons why we suffer that have nothing to do with God’s will.  She was cooking when I came to the door and her daughter was alone inside and 15 min had passed by now so I tell her when can I come back…she says Tomorrow I will be here.  That was Friday, Saturday I return from the group a 2 mile walk back to her house and when I get there she comes down with a note pad, and as we review the reasons she jots down all the texts and listens intently and the end of our conversation she says she will look over the texts in her own bible and meditate upon the invitation stating that it makes her feel relief but at the same time leaves her with many questions.  So since “Bible Teach” run out here like hot cakes  I promise her a book and promise my return.   You can imagine my excitement! J  Below are some pictures of the many wonderful things we are experiencing here in Bolivia hope you all enjoy a small look at this wonderful country and it’s wonderful brotherhood!
